The work related to the realization of this prototype comes from a consortium of Czech PRUSA "makers" (https://www.prusa3d.com/covid19/), accessible in open source to allow the greatest number to benefit from this advance technological (https://www.prusa3d.com/covid19/). Initiated by the 3D4Care consortium (http://3d4care.org/) and piloted by the URB2i laboratory (UR 4462), the project was first developed for the AP-HP in Paris. These visors have been adapted to be printed in PETG and in large quantities according to an industrial process in the workshops of the ARMOR group. The new models have been evaluated by the nursing staff of CHU Nantes and CHU Cholet. They protect users from projections and are easily cleaned or changed. Wearing a plastic visor, in addition to a suitable mask, provides additional insulation for the face and sensitive areas.
